Salary and Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be placed in Level-4 of the Pay Matrix as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).(चयनित उम्मीदवारों को 7वें केंद्रीय वेतन आयोग (सीपीसी) के अनुसार वेतन मैट्रिक्स के लेवल-4 में रखा जाएगा।)
- Basic Pay: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 per month.
- Allowances: Personnel are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), Ration Money Allowance, House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other benefits as per Government orders.
- Pension: New recruits will be covered under the Defined Contributory Pension Scheme (NPS) or the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS).
Eligibility Criteria for SSB Head Constable Recruitment 2026
Post wise Eligibility Criteria given below:
✅️Head Constable (Communication)
- Age: 18 to 27 years.
- Education: 12th class pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Alternative: A three-year diploma in Electronics, Communications, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
✅️Head Constable (Electrician)
- Age: 18 to 25 years.
- Education: 10th (Matriculation) pass.
- Experience: 2 years of work experience in the trade; OR a 1-year ITI certificate with 1 year of experience; OR a 2-year ITI Diploma.
- Requirement: Must qualify for the trade test.
✅️Head Constable (Veterinary)
- Age: 18 to 27 years.
- Education: 12th class pass with Science and Biology as main subjects.
- Professional: 2-year Diploma in Veterinary and Livestock Development or Animal Husbandry.
✅️Head Constable (Steward)
- Age: 18 to 27 years.
- Education: 12th class pass.
- Professional: 2-year Diploma in Catering and Kitchen Management plus 1 year of experience as a Steward in a 100-bedded hospital or institution.
Selection Process
The recruitment involves a multi-stage process to ensure only the most fit and capable candidates are selected:
Stage I: PET & PST
Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- Male: 1.6 Kms race in 6 Minutes 30 Seconds.
- Female: 800 Meter race in 4 Minutes.
✅️ Note: Ex-Servicemen are exempted from the PET.
Physical Standard Test (PST):
- Height and chest measurements will be checked. The general height requirement for males is 170 cm (varies by post and category) and 157 cm for females.
Stage II: Written Examination
- A Computer Based Test (CBT) will be conducted for 3 hours.
- Total Marks: 150 marks (150 Multiple Choice Questions).
- Part-I (50 Marks): General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, and English/Hindi.
- Part-II (100 Marks): Questions related to the specific Technical Subject of the post.
- Qualifying Marks: 50% for Gen/EWS/OBC/Ex-SM and 45% for SC/ST.
- Stage III: Skill Test (Electrician Only)
- Only for the post of Head Constable (Electrician).
- It is qualifying in nature with a minimum score requirement of 60%.
Stage IV: Documentation & Medical
✅️ Shortlisted candidates will undergo a detailed document check and a Medical Examination (DME/RME).
Age Relaxation
Upper age relaxation is applicable as per Central Government rules:
