Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Jail Warder position, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
- Nationality: Must be a Citizen of India and a Permanent Resident of Assam.
- Employment Exchange: Must have a valid registration number from a local Employment Exchange in Assam.
- Language: Must be fluent in Assamese or any other state language.
- Educational Qualification: Must have passed HSLC (Class 10th) or equivalent from a recognized Board or Council.
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 40 Years
(Candidates must be born between 01-01-1986 and 01-01-2008).
Age Relaxations:
SC/ST (P)/ST (H): 5 years
OBC/MOBC: 3 years
Ex-Servicemen: 2 years
Physical Standards
- Height Requirements:
- Gen/OBC/MOBC/SC: Male: 162.5 cm | Female: 144.5 cm
- ST (P)/ST (H): Male: 160 cm | Female: 142 cm
- Chest (Only for Men): Minimum 81 cm when deflated.
Selection Process
The selection will be conducted in four major stages:
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - 40 Marks: Includes a 1600m race (800m for females) and Long Jump.
- Written Test - 50 Marks: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (0.5 marks each). No negative marking. Subjects include Arithmetic, English, Reasoning, Assam History, and General Knowledge.
- NCC Weightage - 5 Marks: Based on A, B, or C certificates.
- Oral/Viva Voce - 5 Marks.
